Money And Resources
Buildings
It is widely known that investment is needed for the Scola block. Currently 60% of this unit is not being used and the children have been displaced to other areas of the school.
Investment would be needed to turn Northchapel School into an infant school (as the local authority propose), or to extend the school to include year 6 (as we propose).
Now is an opportune time to make this investment. Currently the plan below is in place.
- The scola block building has been in poor repair for several decades.
- This dates back to when the County were responsible for school buildings.
- The buildings were handed over to the Governing Body’s financial responsibility without survey or remedial works being completed.
- The current building issues are a direct result of decades of neglect by the County.
