Education at Northchapel School

The WSCC propose a Two-tier for every school apart from Northchapel and have stated  Children make better progress if they change
school less often.

WSCC state Northchapel pupils would benefit from purpose-built
facilities and greater social and educational opportunities that can be
provided by a larger school.

Obviously facilities currently at the school are in need of urgent attention as the Skola block is out of action. Similar Investment must be made for either an infant school or a year 6 inclusive primary school. Now is an opportune time to address which proposal better serves Northchapel.

Northchapel has changed over the last few years. There is a new direction and “ethos” (quote Ofsted). To lose the advances we have made in learning and development of Northchapel children now, in our minds would be disastrous for our children. Lets look at our Ofsted status, what they say and how we compare figuratively with other schools.

(1= Outstanding,  5= Unsatisfactory)

Northchapel is recognised as a school that has a unique learning experience. We empower children to “learn how to learn”. Our continued aim is

to produce high achievers through creative learning” - and it is working. We wish to build on this success and continue provision through to year 6, (end of key stage 3)
Ofsted “The strong emphasis given to pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development helps pupils’ develop a sensitive approach to life and everyday issues, and to appreciate the achievement of others”

Northchapel has been, and is currently being featured in the national press and TV for TV (national teaching) programmes such as “pupil power” and “Quality assessment”.
