Community
The school is the focal point of the Northchapel community. It is at the heart of the village and is a vital social scene for young mothers in particular. A school with such a good Ofsted and growing ambition can only be healthy for the community bringing in new younger families, and therefore renewed vibrancy to the village.
Without a school, the community would lack the influx of young families and become an “older” community. Divided by a main road as it is, such a transition can only deprive the village further and will in our minds slowly see a decline in people “out and about” in the community and a death of events such as the Village Fete, games on the green etc.
Like most primary schools Northchapel is involved in functions such as the Harvest festival, and productions of school plays and events for the local community, particularly senior citizens. It holds workshops for parents and carers. Northchapel really reaches out. Here are some examples:-

Turning Northchapel into an infant school will drastically reduce the numbers of children at the school and those intending to come to the school. We know already a large % of children in the infant school are being considered for other schools if Northchapel becomes an infant school.
